INTRODUCTION

In Captains & Cannons you play as a pirate captain managing your crew. You pick one out of three captains at the beginning of the game and then your journey begins, you travel across randomized paths on the sea and discover random events, combat encounters and boss fights.

REFLECTIONS

This was created as the longest game project at Södertörn University. We decided to create a 2D top-down adventure game with turn based combat sections and a lot of random events the player could encounter. It was fun doing game and content design for this game and I did around 75% of all the random events. Getting a good balance in the combat and for all the different items and pirates you could recruit was also a big priority and task for me.

To track all the different events, characters and items in the game I used Microsoft Excel which helped enormously. Overall it was a fun experience which I would like to do again but in 3D instead.
